چکیده

conclusions tlr8 rs3764880 and tlr9 rs148805533 polymorphisms may not be risk factors for susceptibility to tuberculosis in a sample of iranian population. larger studies are required to validate our findings. results the allelic and genotypic frequencies of the tlr8 rs3764880 did not differ significantly between ptb and the controls. no significant difference was found between the groups regarding tlr9 rs148805533 polymorphism. patients and methods in this study, blood samples of 320 subjects including 160 ptb patients and 160 healthy subjects were collected. dna was extracted and tlr8 rs3764880 polymorphism was analyzed by tetra amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction (tarms-pcr) and tlr9 rs148805533 polymorphisms was analyzed by allele specific pcr. objectives the aim of this study was to evaluate the possible association between tlr8 rs3764880 and tlr9 rs148805533 polymorphisms and pulmonary tuberculosis (ptb) in a sample of iranian population. background tuberculosis is still a health problem throughout the world. both genetic and environmental factors may contribute the susceptibility to tuberculosis. toll-like receptors play a critical role in the recognition of mycobacterium tuberculosis (tb).

Association between TLR4 and TLR9 Gene Polymorphisms with Development of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Zahedan, Southeastern Iran

Some evidence suggests that a variety of genetic factors contribute to development of the tuberculosis (TB). TLR4 and TLR9 have been proposed as susceptibility genes for TB. This study was performed in 124 newly diagnosed TB cases and 149 healthy controls in a TB-endemic region of Iran. The TLR4 genes Asp299Gly, Thr399Ile, and TLR9 gene T-1486C polymorphisms were amplified by polymerase chain r...

Lack of Association Between miRNA-146a rs2910164 and miRNA-499 rs3746444 Gene Polymorphisms and Susceptibility to Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in miRNAsmay alter its expression levels or processing and contribute to susceptibility to a wide range of diseases. Our study aimed to evaluate the possible association between miRNA-146a rs2910164 and miRNA-499 rs3746444 polymorphisms and susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) in a sample of Iranian population. This case- control study was perfor...

Association between toll-like receptors 9 (TLR9) gene polymorphism and risk of pulmonary tuberculosis: meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Previous studies indicated that the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in TLR9 gene might be associated with Tuberculosis (TB) risk. However, the results are inconsistent and inconclusive. METHODS 1745 articles from four databases were involved in our study. A meta-analysis on the associations between the seven polymorphisms and TB risk was carried out by comparison using diffe...

Lack of Association of SP110 Gene Polymorphisms with Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Golestan Province, Iran

ABSTRACT           Background and Objectives: Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the causative agent of pulmonary tuberculosis, a main public health problem that results in 1.5 million deaths annually. A number of epidemiological studies suggested that host genetic factors could play a main role in susceptibility to tuberculosis infection. SP110 is an i...

Lack of association between cytokine gene polymorphisms and silicosis and pulmonary tuberculosis in Chinese iron miners.

Silicosis is a fibrotic lung disease produced by the inhalation and deposition of silica dust. The association between silicosis and pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) has been well established. Cytokines participate in the development and progression of silicosis and PTB. Functional polymorphisms in cytokine genes have been identified that alter cytokine production. The aims of the current investiga...

The association between CD209 gene polymorphisms and pulmonary tuberculosis susceptibility: a meta-analysis.

AIM Three common polymorphisms in CD209 gene (-336A/G, -871A/G and -139G/A) have been reportedly associated with pulmonary tuberculosis risk. However, the findings from different studies were inconsistent. Therefore, we conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis to determine the association between CD209 gene polymorphisms and pulmonary tuberculosis susceptibility. METHODS The PubMed, SCI and El...
